Hidden away near the Drift Road in Cranbourne not that far from Legoland it is situated by fishing lakes. Dan says, “Lake Side was proper old school caff, excellent for bacon sandwiches on white sliced. Catering to fisherman and builders predominantly. Babs begins the counter serving. Constant queue of people. No matching crockery. Mustard jars […]
Situated south of Crawley at Handcross, West Sussex. Clashcity says, “Very friendly and well organised, loads of space to park your bikes up, plenty of room inside for social distancing. Coffee pretty decent but not exceptional, option for wine and beer (!) Toasted sandwiches great, cake choice limited but nice. Overall a really good option, […]
A ride to Newdigate is typically a 50 mile round trip from Esher. Good job there is a great refueling stop! It is popular with many cycling clubs from all over the south east. A good range of cakes, pies and meals along with hot and cold beverages and even jelly babies! Plenty of space […]
Peaslake Village Store is perfectly located in the Surrey Hills for a much needed coffee stop. Popular with mountain bikers at the weekend. Great value hot drinks and cakes. Freshly cooked pies and pastries. The sausage and pickle slice is a big hit with some DV members! Google map link
The Dabbling Duck is a popular cafe stop just beyond Staple Lane/Coombe Bottom. Originally more of a coffee and cake stop but in recent times has become a waitress service cafe offering a fancy menu. Ample outside seating and a cosy yurt in the winter. A 30 mile there and back ride. Google maps link
Maison du Velo is a recent discovery of Andy “Womble”. He has made repeat visits not only due to the cake but, no doubt, to the “bike porn” on display! Situated in Reigate, Surrey it is a fairly flat ride that can include some hills to taste! Google map link
Velolife is a cafe for cyclists! For many years I’ve cycled along a quiet Warren Row Road on my way back from Henley then in 2012 this cafe sprung up. The menu is limited but great if you just want coffee and cake! It can get very busy mid morning. Recently Clashcity and I popped […]
Horsham is a long way on a bike. Cake is required! Strawberry Fields Tea Room is near to the Faygate roundabout on the A264. A little off the beaten track but worth it. Nice coffee and cakes. A typical farm and craft shop with ample space for bikes and cars. I had a chance to […]
