This is the classic 70 mile route to Henley. The usual half distance coffee stop is the Chocolate Cafe (over the bridge and turn left). The return leg includes the climb up Remenham Hill before turning right to Warren Row where you can refuel at Velolife Cafe (39 miles). The route stays off the main […]
8 ways up Leith Hill – for the brave amongst you… The route starts in Dorking and ends at the top of Leith Hill on the 8th climb – so beware: the GPX is not the full distance! (full distance c.100miles if riding to and from Esher). I found my Garmin got confused with all […]
A nice 30 mile route going down Box Hill Zig-Zag for a change. Heading out via Ewell and Tadworth and continue climbing gently to Box Hill. A quick coffee and cake and head home via the Chappel Lane/Blagden Hill climb. Descend to Fetcham and a few small bumps back to HQ. The GPX route file – […]
Three good hills in a 40 mile route to test the climbing legs. Staple Lane, Crocknorth and Box Hill. The usual coffee stop is at the Box Hill cafe. The homeward leg includes the fast-as-you-can Horton roundabouts section! The GPX route file – right click and ‘Save link as’
Brett just loves his steam railways so he devised this route to the Bluebell Railway in Sussex. This route takes you to the Horsted Keynes Station (RH17 7BB). There is a cafe on the station. The route is 75 miles and fairly hilly.
Dr David likes to ride beyond the local hills of the North Downs! Nearly 80 miles with three significant climbs. Coffee is always at the Devil’s Punchbowl (great views) at Hindhead. Return via Pitch Hill and Coombe Lane climbs. – right click and ‘Save link as’
As the name suggests this is a Nigel Shipley “encouragement ride”. A step up from a flat Ripley. 30 miles with a short climb up Staple lane and home for a beer! – right click and ‘Save link as’
A route away from the usual Surrey routes (along with the Stockbridge route), but both easily accessible within a 50min drive. This one is undulating with 2-3 hills of note that each rise by between 250ft and 450ft. Cracking route. Lunch recommendation on this route is just off the route at The Fox in Bramdean which […]
This long route includes 4 climbs. Tilford Road, Hindhead (600ft) then Barhatch Lane (450ft), Coombe lane (300ft) and finally Crocknorth Road (230ft). Ample refuelling stops along the route including Devils Punchbowl and Cranleigh.
Down to the coast – 50miles there Note: the map/route only shows the way there
