DV 2026 Segments -Mid Street, Tilburstow Hill Rd, Flower Lane Segments
Overview – Distance: 77 km, Climbing: 990 m
Café stop – Flower Farm, Poppy Café.
Two “New for 2026” segments are on this route. Head to Nutfield via Banstead and Merstham. The Mid Street segment is a “down the hill and back up”. Make sure you go well beyond the segment to ensure your computer records the correct crossing of the start point. Turn back up Mid Street, the segment starts just past a row of posts on the left and a 30mph sign. The segment finish is just before the summit, after the junction with Sandy Lane on your left. At the junction ahead, turn right towards Godstone.
The Tilburstow Hill Road segment is another new segment that heads south out of Godstone. Go past The Bell pub and peel off right, signposted Godstone Farm. The segment starts at the bridge and finishes at the top of the hill past Rabies Heath Road. Go past the segment but don’t descend the hill. Turn around and retrace the segment and turn right down The Enterdent (you do the reverse of 2025 segment). At the end of Church lane you have the option to turn left and either go 200m to Flower Farm Café or jink over the main road for the next segment.
For 2026 the Flower Lane segment has been shortened and finishes before the junction with Tandridge Hill Lane. The segments starts at the first dip. Cross the bypass and then sharp right up Gangers Hill. The finish is when the road levels off and curves left, just before Chaldon Farm. At the farm, turn around and carefully descend the hill. At the sharp bend (scene of a famous DV “Blue Light Award” incident) tun right to Woldingham School.
The return route home is past the Ann Summers roundabout and climb up to Old Coulsdon. Descend Marlpit Lane and at the bottom you will find Poppy Café in the Memorial Ground. There are more cafés in Chipstead and Banstead on the route home if required.
