DV 2026 Segments – Abinger Lane, Anstie Lane, Guildford Road Segments
Overview – Distance: 61 km, Climbing: 845 m
Café stop – Coldharbour, Dorking.
Another “New for 2026” segment in this route. Guildford Road in Leatherhead.
First we head through Effingham to Whitedown. Descend Whitedown and cross the A24 Guildford-Dorking Road. Enter Raikes Lane and bear left onto Abinger Lane. The segment starts at the first right bend. The climb finishes at the wrought iron gates of a house on the left named “Furzen Wood”. At the end of Abinger Lane bear right and continue to Leith Hill. Descend Leith Hill with care and turn left to Ockley. At the junction turn left onto the busy A29 Stane Street. After 2.5km look out for some chevrons indicating a sharp bend to the right and take the little left turn into Henhurst Cross Lane.
Follow Henhurst until you come to a righthand bend in front of a pretty gabled house. Hit the gas when you see the house because the segment start is about 25m before the bend! The segment finish is at the top, just before two farm gates and a 20mph sign.
You’ll find yourself on Coldharbour near The Plough pub for coffee if you turn right at the top or turn left, and descend with caution to Dorking. You may want to have coffee at the Old Clunker café in Dorking before heading to Leatherhead.
At Leatherhead go through the precinct past Waitrose and slide down to Bridge Road. Descend Bridge Road and over the mini roundabout. Bear left past the Leisure Centre and onto the next roundabout. The Guildford Road segment lies ahead.
The segment starts at the “Elmer Cottages” road sign and continues up the hill to finish at the bus stop just before “The Mount” turning on the right. Do a U-turn and head home via Leatherhead and Oxshott.
